Not at all! Jiu Jitsu teaches respect, discipline, and self-control. While your child will learn powerful self-defense techniques, the focus is always on using those skills responsibly. We emphasize kindness, cooperation, and teamwork both on and off the mat. Jiu Jitsu helps kids build confidence and handle challenges without resorting to aggression.

Jiu Jitsu is a systematic approach to self defense where we close the distance and achieve positional dominance where we are in a position to apply a submission or just control the opponent without hurting them.  In Jiu Jitsu training there is no striking and at its core is a grappling martial art. Since most self defense situations end up on the ground it’s an extremely good idea to be a master in close quarters combat. 

Yes Jiu Jitsu is very safe because we have a systematic approach to teach kids how to train Jiu Jitsu safely. We have highly trained instructors that teach your child how to safely apply techniques. Most injuries that we hear kids sustain come from other sports or outside of Jiu Jitsu.

Each class is 1 hour long from 5:30 to 6:30 Monday-Friday. Most people come 1-3 days a week.  There’s 5 classes per week available which means that you can bring your kids a much or as little as you want depending on your schedule.  This can allow you to make the schedule that works best for your family.
